TLC For Kids

Tap 2 Distract

TLC for Kids, a children’s charity since 1998, provides immediate emotional and practical support to sick children and their families. Our programs, including the Tap 2 Distract App, deliver over 1.3 million moments of support annually. With the Community Kickstart Grant, we’ll amplify the reach of our free, ad-free Tap 2 Distract app locally. This digital tool offers immediate positive distraction and stress relief, proven to provide over 1.1 million minutes of relief nationwide. We aim to engage 2,000–3,000 local families in the first year, promoting the app through schools, health centers, and community organisations to generate thousands of minutes of reduced stress and improved wellbeing.

Australian Bosnian Women’s Association

Women’s Wellness & Connection Program

We are Žena Ženi, the Australian Bosnian Women’s Association, a vibrant and welcoming space dedicated to empowering women from all walks of life, particularly our Bosnian and migrant sisters. We passionately believe in fostering mental, emotional, and social well-being, celebrating our rich cultural identity while embracing integration into the wider Australian community. With the Community Kickstart Grant, we will launch our transformative “Women’s Wellness & Connection Program,” a six-month initiative offering free weekly workshops and social gatherings. This program will directly support 100-140 women, focusing on crucial areas like Wellbeing & Mental Health, Skills & Empowerment, and Community & Connection. By providing a safe and inclusive environment, we will empower elderly women, single mothers, and those experiencing disadvantage to overcome social isolation, build resilience, and forge lasting connections, creating a stronger, more vibrant community for everyone.

Afghan’s Hope Hut Victoria INC

Silk Road Banquet

At Afghans Hope Hut Victoria Inc., our journey began in 2021, born from the resilience of newly arrived Afghan families seeking to build a vibrant new life in Australia. We are a community-based not-for-profit, passionately dedicated to empowering Afghan and wider multicultural populations in Melbourne’s western suburbs. We achieve this by fostering social, cultural, educational, and emotional well-being through culturally appropriate programs like women’s empowerment sessions, health workshops, and youth support. With the Community Kickstart Grant, we will proudly launch the “Silk Road Banquet,” a vibrant fortnightly multicultural dining experience. This project will empower 30 multicultural women to share their culinary traditions, stories, and heritage, fostering cross-cultural understanding and confidence, while celebrating the rich diversity of Melbourne. This grant will not only reduce social isolation but also create pathways for women to build connections and even explore potential food enterprises, enriching our entire community.
